Description
UVC light breaks up the genetic material (DNA) of bacteria in air, water and on hard surfaces so they can no longer function or reproduce. It’s a natural germicide that has been used to disinfect hospital room surfaces, public places, money and drinking water. In aquariums, UVC light kills suspended bacteria and algae that contribute to cloudy or murky water.

The FX UVC In-Line Clarifier quickly and easily connects to all canister filters to eliminate suspended algae for a clean and clear aquarium. With unique CCFL technology, the FX UVC bulb runs cooler to last up to 2X longer than traditional lamps. It attacks green and cloudy water by applying powerful, DNA-destroying light emissions at a precise 253 nanometer wavelength. This natural process is chemical-free and will not affect beneficial, surface-dwelling bacterial colonies that are already established. Say goodbye to cloudy and green water forever!

Connects in-line to all canister filter hosing with an internal diameter of 1″ (or 24mm), including all Fluval FX filter. The UVC can be used on any external filter that has tubing of 16-24mm.
