Fish guarantee Policy
We care about the health and quality of our livestock and have invested in individually filtered aquariums rather than a large, centralised system where the tanks are connected.
Regular water tests ensure perfect conditions in our sale aquariums, and we will only ever sell a fish that is fit for the move to your home aquarium.
We offer a 48-hour guarantee on all freshwater tropical fish when the correct conditions are met by the customer.
A Fish will be replaced if the following conditions are met:
1. We are notified by phone or email of the fish loss within 48 hours of purchase.
2. You retain your receipt showing the original fish purchase.
3. A fish will only be replaced once a sample of water from the aquarium has been tested by us (this must be within the 48-hour period). We will do this free of charge.
4. Upon water testing, the parameters should not exceed the following:
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 0-40ppm (Aquarium water will usually show some level of Nitrate depending on the stage in the nitrogen cycle)
Ph: Within suitable parameters for the fish species in question
Water parameters outside of the above will not qualify for a replacement of the fish.
5. The fish must be brought with you, the fish can be placed in the freezer before you bring into the shop to avoid decomposition.
6. If you bring a fish back to us due to a change of mind/ compatibility issues, we will charge £12 per group of fish for quarantine and reintroducing them into our aquariums.
Our commitment to reducing fish losses requires a strict replacement policy. The replacement guarantee is in addition to any consumer rights and exceeds our competitor’s replacement fish care. In order to remain a responsible retailer of livestock we are unable to replace a fish if the above conditions are not met.
